Je suis francophile! Since the age of 16, when I first went to France, it was an instant 'coup de foudre'! I so enjoy sharing my love of the language, the culture, French around the world and here in Canada with my students. Along with my two children and husband, our family has enjoyed a variety of cultural experiences and holidays. Every two years, I organize a trip with our students. ALWAYS an amazing adventure!
English is NOT my mother-tongue (it is Dutch), so I understand how difficult it is to learn another language. It IS hard work and takes so much time...Believe me though, when I say (and repeat often), that it IS worth it! Learning languages allows you to become more connected with the world. Having a working knowledge of French and English will open doors to different post-secondary and career opportunities! Most importantly, language is the stepping stone to building relationships with people and their cultures.
Below are two photos of the teachers who I taught in the province of Jiangsu, China. It was a life-changing experience!
